If you’ve heard of fractional radio frequency (RF) micro-needling then you most probably have heard of Morpheus 8. If not, then read on!

Morpheus 8 targets textural skin concerns, such as acne scarring, visible pores etc., as well as areas that are prone to advanced skin ageing and require refinement, tightening and contouring, such as the eyes, mouth, jowls and neck.

Once the skin has been numbed using a topical anaesthetic, micro pins are quickly inserted into the skin whilst simultaneously a surge of RF kick starts the skin’s natural production of new collagen and other proteins to thicken and tighten the skin.

Whilst topical numbing does take the sting out of the treatment, a manageable feeling of warmth and skin pricking can still be felt. A warm sensation for a few hours post treatment can also be experienced.

Precare:
If you are prone to cold sores, we recommend using an over-the counter prophylactic to reduce the risk of post-treatment breakout and please cease oral anti-inflammatories two-days pre-treatment.

Aftercare:
Take it easy on your skin for five days, or until all responses have subsided. Use a gentle cleanser morning and night, along with a moisturiser or your prescribed post treatment product. As always, you should avoid direct sunlight, and wear a high SPF sunscreen and hat whenever outdoors.

Immediate pinpoint bleeding, bruising, redness and mild-swelling may be experienced, in addition to around five to seven days of light scabbing, dryness, roughness and slight darkening of the treatment area. Mild shedding may occur.

For textural skin issues, we recommend between three- and six- treatments at three- to six-week intervals, followed by a review. For ageing concerns, we recommend up to three- treatments at three-to six-week intervals, followed by a review. Treatment number and intervals will be reviewed by your clinician based on your unique concerns.
